Nagai Maternity Hospital provides obstetric and gynecological care for international patients living in or visiting Japan.
Our medical team includes three female obstetricians and gynecologists who speak English, allowing many consultations to be conducted directly in English.
We provide care throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as general gynecological care, prenatal testing, abortion care, and vaccinations.

We provide pregnancy confirmation and routine prenatal care throughout pregnancy.

Delivery
We welcome international patients who wish to give birth at Nagai Maternity Hospital.
We provide:
- Vaginal delivery
- Epidural labor analgesia
- Planned delivery
- Planned epidural delivery
- Cesarean section when medically indicated
Our hospital provides epidural labor analgesia 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with anesthesiologists available around the clock.

Postpartum Care
We provide postpartum care for mothers who need additional physical or emotional support after childbirth.
Both overnight and day-care programs are available.

Prenatal Screening & Diagnostic Testing
Nagai Maternity Hospital provides NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing) and amniocentesis.
NIPT is a screening test that uses a maternal blood sample to assess the possibility of:
- Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome)
- Trisomy 18
- Trisomy 13
NIPT is available from 10 weeks 0 days to 15 weeks 6 days of pregnancy.
Amniocentesis is a diagnostic test that examines fetal chromosomes using a small amount of amniotic fluid. It may be recommended when NIPT or another screening test shows a high-risk result, when an abnormality is suspected on ultrasound, or when diagnostic testing is otherwise medically indicated.
Our doctors will explain which test may be appropriate for you based on your gestational age, screening results, ultrasound findings, and medical history.
Early Surgical Abortion
We provide surgical abortion during early pregnancy.
The procedure is generally performed as a day procedure using suction aspiration under intravenous anesthesia.
Please contact us for an appointment if you are considering an abortion. We will explain the necessary examinations, procedure, anesthesia, fees, and follow-up care.
Your privacy and confidentiality will be respected throughout your care.
General Gynecology
We provide consultations for a wide range of gynecological concerns, including:
- Menstrual problems

Fertility Care
We provide evaluation and treatment for general infertility, including fertility testing, ovulation monitoring, timed intercourse, and intrauterine insemination (IUI).
Please note that fertility treatment currently requires sufficient Japanese-language ability to understand detailed explanations, consent forms, medication instructions, and treatment schedules.
For patient safety, we may not be able to provide fertility treatment if communication in Japanese is difficult.
Vaccinations
We provide several vaccinations for women and pregnant patients, including:
- RSV vaccine during pregnancy
- Pertussis-containing vaccine during pregnancy
- HPV vaccine
- Rubella vaccine
- Influenza vaccine
- Other vaccines available at our hospital
Availability, eligibility, and fees may vary depending on the vaccine.

What medical records should I bring from my previous doctor who provided my prenatal care?
If you have been receiving prenatal care at another hospital or clinic, please bring your medical records whenever possible.
Useful information includes:

- Infectious disease screening results
- Information about previous pregnancies and deliveries

A referral letter from your previous doctor is also helpful.
You can receive medical care at our hospital even if you do not have Japanese public health insurance.
However, if you are not covered by Japanese public health insurance, you may be required to pay the full cost of medical services yourself.

Yes. You may visit us for a prenatal consultation.
If you are considering giving birth at our hospital, we will review your medical history and current pregnancy status and determine whether we can safely provide your maternity care and delivery.
Yes. We offer epidural labor analgesia (painless delivery).
Whether epidural analgesia is appropriate for you will be determined based on your medical history, pregnancy status, and other relevant factors.
Yes. Your husband or partner may be present with you during labor and vaginal delivery.
However, if you have a cesarean section, your partner will not be allowed to enter the operating room.
If you are receiving prenatal care at our hospital or have registered to give birth here and experience urgent symptoms, please contact the hospital promptly for instructions.
If you have severe symptoms or believe that you or your baby may be in immediate danger, please seek emergency medical assistance.

Yes. Nagai Maternity Hospital is an accredited facility providing Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT).

Other prenatal examinations, including amniocentesis and detailed fetal ultrasound examinations, are also available when medically appropriate.
Yes. We provide postpartum care services to support mothers and babies after delivery.
Please ask our staff about available postpartum care programs, eligibility, and fees.
Delivery fees start from:
- ¥624,000 for a first delivery
- ¥609,000 for patients who have previously given birth
- ¥564,000 for a cesarean section
All patient rooms are private and include a shower and toilet.
Epidural labor analgesia is available for an additional fee starting from ¥100,000.
Additional charges may apply depending on the course of your delivery, treatment required, length of stay, and other circumstances.
The fee is ¥78,000 including tax and includes the preoperative consultation, postoperative consultation, procedure, and anesthesia.
A deposit of ¥11,000 is required at the preoperative consultation.
